１５）心とメッセージ物質

最近、感情を作る物質として話題になっている脳内物質・ホルモン・神経伝達物質など（以後、メッセージ物質と呼ぶ）について考えてみよう。

この世の感覚刺激は、物理脳経由、心を通して、瞬時に、あの世に到達する。これが原因となって、その心が持つ縁（筆者が言う紐付け）に影響されながらも、あの世では、これに関連する法則、論理、概念、イメージ、記憶、感情などの総体が、合成・具現化される。心は、これを、瞬時に、又、物理脳に送り返す。この総体は、心が意識・思考・制御する対象ともなるが（意識に上らないものもある）、常に、何らかの意味と価値を伴う或る種の感情に支えられている。物理脳を中心とする神経組織体は、この感情に対応する何かを、肉体の関連個所に血管などを通して伝達するため、メッセージ物質を分泌し、肉体はこれに反応する。これが、感情反応の本来の順序である。

しかし、現在では、そうした本来の感情反応とは無関係に、人為的に、このメッセージ物質と同じものを肉体内に送り込むことが可能になった。その場合、このメッセージ物質は、まず肉体の関連個所（物理脳内を含む）に運ばれ、そこで然るべき感情に対応する何かを引き起こす。その何かは、継続性を保つため、すぐさま循環し、物理脳を経由し、心の領域（あの世）に到達する。これによって、今度は、その何かに対応する本来の感情が引き出され、それは、瞬時に、心から物理脳に伝達される。こうした自律的循環の結果、物理脳・神経組織体は、そのメッセージ物質の分泌を行い、自然の順序に沿って、暫くの間、感情反応は持続する。即ち、人為的に、意図した感情を引き出すことができるようになったのである。

この一連の現象から、「メッセージ物質が感情を生み出す」という仮説が脚光を浴びている。しかし、順序が逆であることに注意して欲しい。飽くまでも、感情があって、それによって、メッセージ物質が生み出されるのである。人為的に投入されたメッセージ物質は、自律的循環の結果として、感情を引き出したのであって、決して感情を無から生み出した訳ではない。もし、各物理脳が、それぞれ、独自に、感覚刺激に対応する感情を設計し、その設計図からメッセージ物質を作って感情を生み出すのであれば、普遍的な共通感情などが生まれる筈はない。人為的に投入されたメッセージ物質は、普遍的な感情が先に存在していて、それを引き出しただけなのだ。

尚、上記の問題とは別に、メッセージ物質は、肉体の各部分で物理的な条件が起点となって生成されるものが多数あって、肉体の自律的なバランス維持や免疫反応に役立っている。更に、これらが生み出す物理的な結果（例えば、バランス維持の不調和や免疫異常など）が、自律的循環によって心に到達し、或る種の感情を無意識的に引き出す仕組みもある。しかし、これも、あの世にある原型（「この世に一番近いあの世の領域・その１」の項を参照のこと）がベースになっているし、メッセージ物質は、感情を生み出しているのではなく、引き出しているだけなのである。
